By choosing recycled metals, we reduce the need for mining, which often causes significant harm to the environment and the people living in mining areas. Mining can lead to deforestation, pollution, and poor working conditions for those involved, including exposure to dangerous chemicals and unsafe labor practices. While fair trade gold operates under stricter regulations, it is still mined, which is why we exclusively use recycled gold and silver to avoid supporting these practices altogether.
Using recycled gold and silver allows us to create beautiful, high-quality jewellery that avoids contributing to these harmful practices. Every piece we craft is a step toward a more ethical and sustainable future—protecting both people and the planet.
At MERANNI, we choose to use synthetic diamonds and AAA-grade cubic zirconia stones in our jewellery. These stones give the same stunning sparkle as natural diamonds, but without the environmental damage or ethical concerns. Mined diamonds often come with a high cost to the planet and people, which is why we prefer lab-grown alternatives.
